After gaining her Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS) in India in 2001, Dr Thaker went on to complete a certificate in the Advanced Study of Aesthetic Dentistry. She then operated her own dental practice in India for several years before moving to Australia. She gained her certification from the Australian Dental Council (ADC) in 2012, and since then has worked within NSW Health. In her time with NSW Health, Dr Thaker has been described as professional, knowledgeable, gentle and caring. She is driven to provide a compassionate dental service to her clients.
When not in the surgery, she enjoys travel, music and spending time with her family.
Mel first started out as a Dental Assistant and Sterilisation Nurse in a busy multi-clinic practice after deciding on a career change. She has since gone on to become a highly experienced Certified Dental Assistant, and worked her way up to a Senior Dental Assistant within a leadership and training role which she loves. Mel wears many hats within the clinic and she can often be found in various roles around the practice when she is not co-ordinating the front desk.
Mel is a mum to 3 energetic teenagers, and when she is not at work she enjoys overseas travelling and family time with her husband and children.
